The dental bridge is a dental prosthesis that serves to replace one tooth or more by taking support on the neighboring teeth usually with the help of crown. It can be metallic, metal-ceramic or entirely ceramic.
During the first session, the dentist prepares the tooth that needs to be replaced by devitalazing it or not according to the clinical situation. A dental impression is taken in order to manufacture the bridge. A temporary prosthesis is put on.
The bridge is then tried and installed during the second session.
The dental implants are slowly replacing dental bridges as they allow the avoidance of mutilating the neighbouring teeth. Furthermore, chewing remains unchanged as the pressure is exerted on the implants and not on the neighboring prepared teeth.
